Here is an attractive Audemars Piguet ladies’ jewellery wristwatch, Ref. 8495BC, 18K white gold, case no. 87162, serial no. 202501111736LA, bezel set with 20 factory-set baguette-cut diamonds, striking black opal dial, diamond-set hands featuring two baguette-cut diamonds, powered by the manually wound Cal. 2430 movement, accompanied by an Extract from the Archives and original presentation box, recently serviced by Audemars Piguet, presented in exceptional overall condition.
 
Among the many vintage jewellery watches I've owned, this Audemars Piguet remains one of the most captivating. The dial was cut from a single piece of fine black opal. The play of colour is rich and alive, shifting between red, blue and orange as the light moves across it, almost like looking into a kaleidoscope. The most exquisite detail, though, is easy to miss at first glance: two impossibly slender baguette-cut diamonds serve as the hands. It's the kind of touch that even Audemars Piguet's own team, people who handle high jewellery watches routinely, were genuinely struck by.
 
The piece has been serviced by Audemars Piguet and remains in beautiful condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. For a jewellery watch of this age, that level of preservation is rare.
 
What did surprise me was the cost of pulling its archive extract, USD 540 before tax for the digital version, and USD 4,000 for a printed copy. The information on the archives was fairly basic: no gemstone specifications, no weights, no year of manufacture or original date of sale, details that matter a great deal to collectors.
 
None of this takes away from how much I admire the watch itself. If anything, it serves as a reminder of how important archival records have become to collectors.

不过，爱彼档案调取的价格让我颇感意外：电子版税前540美金，纸质版则高达税前4,000美金。然而从收到的电子版文件来看，所提供的信息仅限于基础资料，并未包含珠宝镶嵌种类、重量、制作年份或官方售出日期等对藏家而言极具参考价值的内容。
 
虽然，这并不会影响我对这枚作品本身的欣赏。只是对于收藏者而言，当档案调取被赋予如此高昂的价格时，难免会期待获得更加详尽而完整的历史记录。
