Here is a Piaget antique cocktail wristwatch, 18K white gold, Ref. 3381, case no. 73652, brilliant-cut diamonds set on the bracelet, Piaget 6N manual movement, backwind with 17 Jewels, comes with original Piaget box. The watch is in excellent condition.
 
This Piaget ladies’ cocktail wristwatch, crafted in the 1950s–60s, ranks among the earliest examples still attainable today. Back-wind movements were the vogue of its age: by concealing the winding crown in the back case, watchmakers overcame the space constraints of miniature jewellery calibres and let the watch read as pure jewelry. In those years a woman’s wristwatch was considered a jewel first, a timepiece second. Designers pursued the subtlest grace - refined, self-possessed, deliberately muting any overt “wristwatch” cues.
 
With the rise of larger cases and the spread of quartz and automatic movements, the back-wind architecture quietly exited the stage. Modern watches favour bolder, more extroverted lines, and a measure of bygone delicacy has slipped away. The whispered elegance of that earlier era now survives chiefly in vintage pieces like this one.
