Up for sale is a Vacheron Constantin jewellery wristwatch, Model 1204, 18K white gold, case no. 491703, movement no. 658765, original 34 baguette-cut diamonds set on the bezel, back-wind Cal. 7’”-1430 manual movement, an Extract from the Archives confirms it was created in 1975, comes with original box, the watch is in excellent condition.
 
Among vintage ladies’ watches, any factory-set diamond that isn’t a round brilliant-cut is considered a fancy cut, and baguettes are particularly rare. Compared with the sparkle of brilliants, step-cut stones give a quieter, more aristocratic elegance. Combined with the hidden-crown movement, the watch reads as high jewellery. The only drawback is the size, the integrated bracelet is short and best suited to wrists up to about 15 cm. In every other respect, it’s unequivocally collector grade.
